The Truth About Buying a Used Chevy; Here's a 2007 Chevy Trailblazer LS Example

Why buying a cheap Chevy SUV makes sense sometimes.; here's an example with a Chevy Trailblazer (Scotty Kilmer oldie but goodie from Dec 10, 2020).

A teen bought a Chevy Trailblazer for $3000, and mechanic Scotty Kilmer offers his review. Spoiler? It was a good purchase.

Straight six

PROS

Straight six cylinder engine -- a naturally balanced engine that doesn't burn oil.

Timing chain instead of a "stupid" timing belt.

With over 200,000 miles Scotty Kilmer can barely feel the transmission shift. Transmission runs smooth.

CONS

Typical transfer case failure with a GM vehicle.

Only rear-wheel drive works.

High pressure line blew to the transmission blew, but it didn't damage the transmission.

Scotty Kilmer is a mechanic with over 53 years experience.  Shared knowledge with emphasis on the truth, according to Scotty.

Don't buy the cheapest tires. In six or seven years most tires get dry rot anyway. Scotty Kilmer doesn't like Chinese tires.
